I have been checking airfares since I got home for the month of July. I want to bring my girlfriend, her daughter, and the 2 kids down for the month. I was looking at a non-stop fare to Cancun for $206 on United then 3 days ago it went up to $246. I blew that one and the fares into Cozumel were at least $50 higher. Last night I was checking again and ran across a $192 fare into Cozumel with Delta. I jumped on that. The same flight today is $244. I do have a 50 minute layover in Atlanta but that will be spent changing planes. On top of that I saved the $27 per person cost of getting from Cancun to Cozumel. I did good. Saved $405 on 5 tickets. It pays to keep checking the fares. That will pay for 15 days of air conditioning.

Steve is that including taxes?  That's really cheap!!  Where are you flying from?  Cheapest I found from IAH direct to CZM is $318 including taxes and I thought that was cheap.. but $192 wins the prize  Grin

crunch...I have been a freelance beer taster all my life and go where the opportunities are. The tax breaks are great. This  is a job that takes many years of experience. You have to start at a young age.

I just got a one way tomorrow on US air for 210 pp out of Chicago to CZM.  And a return one way on United for 215 to Chicago for next week.  That is with taxes, best prices we have gotten in a year and a half.

That is a good price.  Who did you buy it through?  I think I was considering US air but crossed them off my list as I thought they wanted an extra $20 to $25 for a checked bag. I could be wrong because I have been checking many airlines and sometimes I get them confused. I wish the airlines would list their prices as all-inclusive. That means taxes, baggage fees, picking seat fees, carry on fees, and anything else they charge for. On top of that some of the flights have way to long of a layover. I have yet to find a direct flight into Cozumel for a decent price in the last couple of years. Airline prices are going to keep going up. I think there is another merger of airlines in the works so that will limit our choices and keep the prices high. Keep searching for prices. There are still some decent deals to be found.

Found the flights on kayak.com and purchased through the airlines direct.  US does charge 25 a bag, but we are carry on only this trip.  For you with the kids it could get expensive with the baggage fees.
