Went down two years ago and stayed at Reef Club. Loved it! Bought some weeks then went back the week before Wilma. Expanded my ownership with points. This is the first hotel in Cozunel I've stayed at more than once in 17 trips!

The airline phone and computer reps actually have no information. With USAir, I had to physically GO to the airport (four times now, to get it all ironed out), and have them call the inventory people (this is the language they respond to). USAir is resuming travel on the 11th or 12th, and Continental is resuming on the 4th, I think. It's just a b***h to get on one of those flights. In my case, with USScare, the only option was to have the rep at the airport call the inventory people. It took alot of time and trouble, but we are flying in on the 12th to get our house buttoned up. I hope this helps anyone needing to get down there... God knows we do.

Tom...if when you come in and there is anything we can do to help, just let us know....my phone # here is 8720131....good luck......Tony

Yeah, touch and go or maybe not is the game the airlines like to play.  They really don't have a clue what customer service is about.  Thanks for the update on your experience with flights to Coz.  I may still have some hope but the Reef Club will probably not be ready for me.  If I can get a flight without paying an arm and leg, I will try to get info. on other places

Because of their proximity to the ocean, I'm guessing that the damage to the Reef Club was extensive. There are lots of interested parties, so the info will probably be flowing better very soon. This is a total guess, but I'm willing to bet that the Reef Club will be partially open either late Jan or early Feb. Just a guess.

Anne, we'll be down from 2/25 to 3/12... hope we get to meet you at Tony's.

Tony... thank you for the kind offer. We have lots of help from our neighbors, and some friends, and we're doing OK. I was actually planning on bringing my work boots, and volunteering some help at your place, or wherever. We have been looking forward to meeting you since back in February. We've heard many good things about you and your family and friends, and are coming by when we return on the 12th. Thanks, everyone.

Cool. Maybe we'll have a couple of these... We have been working on a drink to commemorate the hurricane, and here's what we've come up with:

8. "RE: Wilma Drink???"
In response to message #7

It's gotta go in a blender at some point, too!.. How about this... Pineapple and some other juice in a blender with mint leaves (representing the little bits of leaves that were pasted all over EVERYTHING after the storm). At the same time, pour 151 (mph) rum over rocks. Pour the blended fruit juice and mint over the rocks and SHAKE VIGOROUSLY. Place broken *****tail umbrella haphazardly in the drink (upside down if desired  Cheesy ).

We too are members of the Reef Club, we hope to be able to make our 5th annual trek to Cozumel in late January (1/28 - 2/4/06).  Our rooms have been reserved for quite some time but alas....the darn hurricanes.

We absolutely love the laid back atmosphere at the RC, the staff is very accomodating, the rooms are very comfortable (especially when you upgrade to the members side).  That is what sold us last year, we finally bit the bullet and bought into the RC.

The island is on our minds and in our hearts.  We cannot wait to be able to return to our little slice of paradise.

Thanks for setting up this thread for fellow RC friends!  I personally look forward to seeing the familiar faces that always return the same week as us, God willing this year will be no different.
