While I have always enjoyed talking to Cozumel newbies and veterans on this and other message boards, I've found that the activities of late, though by only a few, have diminished my enthusiasm to participate in any of these forums anymore. And, while this is the "Rant Room," and people are free to express their opinions, as I've said before it's turned more into Romper Room where personal attacks and negativity and downright nastiness prevail.

I've enjoyed "meeting" many of you and will occasionally log in to check my PMs. But as far as participating in forum postings, I'm done -- just as I'm done with a couple of other message boards which will go unnamed. It's a shame, too, because I enjoyed chatting about Cozumel, posting my experiences and learning of others' adventures. Rabbi David, NascarKelly, Coach and others, it's been a pleasure.

To those of you who insist on creating this negative environment, perhaps when enough of us "regulars" stop posting and new people stop joining the forum, you'll realize that your "contributions" are not helpful and do nothing to promote your beautiful island. And though I may share some of your political opinions, I suggest you find a political blog or forum to join. We get enough political ranting from DC, the news, the talk shows, etc. This and other Cozumel message boards should unite us -- not further divide us.
